- Students and graduates who meet the criteria below are invited to apply for the Recognition Ceremony:
- Current full-time undergraduate/ postgraduate students or full-time graduates of 2023 with distinguished accomplishments from January to December 2023; and
- Students of HKU SPACE and HKU SPACE Community College are not eligible for application.
- Types of Awards and Achievements Eligible for Participation
Category A: Achievement Award for Co-curricular Excellence- Up to 20 awards will be presented to honour the outstanding non-academic achievements of students. Demonstrated by evidence, each awardee could have excelled in one or several area(s) of co-curricular achievements, for example: music, arts and culture, sports, innovation, leadership, speaking in United Nations Youth Forum and intercultural collaboration etc.
- Each individual awardee will receive Eslite cash voucher worth of HK$800 and a commendation certificate.
- Applications can be submitted through self-nomination or nomination by Faculties or relevant units.
- Award recipients will be selected by an assessment panel consisting of student representatives, teaching staff and representatives from CEDARS including Dean of Student Affairs.
- Up to ten awards will be presented to acknowledge and honour students who have implemented impactful projects either within or outside the HKU community, supported by evidence of their effectiveness. Furthermore, we will recognise and celebrate acts of kindness, peer support, and community-building efforts among students within various campus settings, such as student halls and colleges, student associations or groups, and within classrooms, among others.
- The projects can be initiated by individuals or groups, or partnered / worked with units / organisations.
- Projects which are part of the study programme are NOT eligible.
- Each individual awardee / awarded team will receive Eslite cash voucher worth of HK$800 and (a) commendation certificate(s).
- Applications can be submitted through self-nomination or nomination by Faculties or relevant units.
- Award recipients will be selected by an assessment panel consisting of student representatives, teaching staff and representatives from CEDARS including Dean of Student Affairs.
- Up to five awards will be presented to acknowledge outstanding ideas or designs for on-campus publicity campaigns that centre around promoting a positive mindset, healthy lifestyle, and overall wellness. These campaigns will encompass a range of themes, including but not limited to celebrating diverse personalities and individuality, navigating failure and success, coping with stress, recognising the “It’s okay to not be okay” concept, fostering civic responsibility, building friendships and connections, promoting regular exercise, maintaining a balanced diet, and engaging with nature, among others.
- Product formats can be 1-minute videos, 4 / 6 / 8 -grid comics, songs, poetry and posters. They should be original works which have not been published.
- The idea or design can be produced by individuals or groups. Works which are part of the study programme are NOT eligible.
- Each individual awardee / awarded team will receive Eslite cash voucher worth of HK$500 and (a) commendation certificate(s). Awarded works may be showcased at HKU / CEDARS promotional channels.
- Applications are submitted through self-nomination. Each student or group can submit up to two works in different formats.
- Award recipients will be selected by an assessment panel consisting of CEDARS staff including Dean of Student Affairs.
- This category is not open for application. Eligible students who have supported CEDARS programmes or activities from January to December 2023 will be recognised accordingly.
- Each awardee will receive a commendation certificate.
