Reward Points Calculation

Calculation of reward points will be based on:

A. For jobs / tasks with remuneration (by hourly pay rates or piece-rate pay):

  • (a) Time (i.e. number of unpaid hours) spent on training, briefing, debriefing and evaluation etc.
  • (b) Project scale
  • (c) Job banding
  • (d) Extra credits (if any)

Total points = (a) + (b) + (c) + (d)

 

B. For jobs / tasks on volunteering basis or with a small allowance only:

  • (a) Time (i.e. number of hours) spent on training, briefing, debriefing and evaluation etc.
  • (b) Project scale
  • (c) Job banding
  • (d) Extra credits (if any)
  • (e) Hours worked

Total points = (a) + (b) + (c) + (d) + (e)

 

Time Spent

One point will be awarded for each unpaid hour spent on each project.  The time spent on each project includes training / briefing hours, preparation work, implementation, post-programme / service evaluation and debriefing.  Jobs / tasks do not have to be carried out on-site or during the office hours of CEDARS.

 

Project Scale

Programmes / activities / projects are defined by their size, complexity and impact, ranging from 1 point (small-scale projects) to 4 points (large-scale projects).  Below are some examples:

1 point: Survival Cantonese, Peer English Tutoring
2 points: CEDARS Global Career Springboard Scheme Week, Special Educational Needs (SEN) Peer Impact Network (PIN)
3 points: Service Fair, Eat To-Gather, Orientation for Non-local Students
4 points: Inauguration Ceremony for New Students, CEDARS Induction Programme, Recognition Ceremony

 

Job Banding

Job banding denotes complexity of jobs / tasks, ranging from 1 point (the simplest) to 4 points (the hardest).  Below are some examples:

1 point: Clerical assistants who input data and make telephone calls
2 points: Student hosts who provide support in setting up venues, registration, crowd control, reception of guests
3 points: Student ambassadors, website technicians
4 points: Masters of Ceremonies, moderators / speakers, student induction instructors, student tutors, SEN PIN members who support students with disabilities


Extra Credits

Extra credits will be given to reward commitment to serve and significant contribution.
