“Important Information for Non-local Students” (Must Read)
Be cautious when renting a flat off-campus to avoid falling victim to rental scams involving fake hostel providers. Only rent flats with licensed estate agents to ensure the legitimacy of the transaction. Several non-local students have unfortunately fallen victim to rental scams by renting flats online and losing a substantial amount of money.
Refer to the “Tenancy Guide”and “Notes on Appointing Estate Agents” published by The Estates Agents Authority for helpful tips on renting a residential place. Check the license list on their website to verify the validity of a license.
