Calming Your Self-critical Mind with Self-compassion (SCW1/21-22)
Are you always harsh and mean on yourself?
Do you keep comparing yourself to others or judging your every move to motivate yourself?
Do you feel down, demotivated, trapped, all alone, or like a failure as a result?
Would you consider yourself weak and fragile for having these painful emotions?
If you say YES to any of the questions above, this workshop is for you. To take care of yourself, eating good food, watching Netflix, and asking yourself to be positive may not always be enough. Research suggests that self-compassion helps us reduce anxiety and depression, boost emotional well-being, and be more resilient in the face of challenges. In this workshop, you will be introduced to tips and strategies to respond to difficult thoughts and emotions with a mindful attitude, kind voice, soothing touch, and constructive actions.

Rest Well: A Dummy’s Guide to Quality Sleep and Power Naps (RWW1/21-22)
You may think that sleep comes naturally to everybody. The truth is… it is not!
We are all prone to the temptation of giving up sleep for more urgent tasks. Stress and anxiety can also affect our quality of sleep. You may think that lacking sleep can easily be dealt with coffee or long, “compensatory” sleep during weekends. However, sleep deprivation or irregular sleeping habits will take a toll on your mental and physical wellbeing in the long run.
Want to break the bad habit? Join this workshop to find out more about sleep – the important (but often ignored) activity that takes up 1/3 of our time!
In this workshop, YOU WILL:
- Learn more about some “myths” and facts about sleep
- Know more about preparing yourself for quality sleep at night
- Be introduced to the concept “power naps” during daytime and the basic usage of the EnergyPod
Date: 12 October 2021 (Tue)
Time: 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Mindfulness Exercises for Wellbeing
“Mindfulness is the awareness that arises from paying attention on purpose, in the present moment non-judgmentally in the service of self-understanding, wisdom, and compassion.” – Jon Kabat-Zinn
Mindfulness can be described as being completely awake and present, moment by moment to what is happening within us and around us. It allows us to stay calm and make sane choices in face of daily stresses.
At the end of the workshop, YOU WILL HAVE:
- Experienced basic mindfulness practices
- Enhanced your awareness of the present
- Learnt to take better care of yourself
